In 1980 Reg and his wife Vera didn`t hesitate to invite Germans to her house in Romford. They helped Mr. Dawe, an Englishman, who was a minister in Ludwigshafen / Germany, to build a bridge to people in the United Reformed Church in Romford. They startet a partnership for more than 25 Years. Vera and Reg managed a lot of meetings. They came with several groups to Ludwigshafen, to Palatinate. At last he liked German wine and the Germans liked fish and chips and more of English life style. If a party in his house was arranged, the Germans learned more than in hundred lessons at home. Reg opened the hearts by his humor, playing piano and made his German friends singing English songs. The warmth which we all felt in his house, made us coming again and again - all the German visitors left England with a new picture of England and as friends.
